Comic Book: Dark Horse Is Partnering With Studio Hermitage

Dark Horse is partnering with Studio Hermitage to publish a three-issue miniseries set in the world of Our Brilliant Ruin, the tabletop RPG that kicked off a shared transmedia IP (see “Studio Hermitage Announces ‘Our Brilliant Ruin’”). Our Brilliant Ruin: Horror at Crane Mansion will be written by Cullen Bunn, with art by Christopher Mitten, coloring by Piky Hamilton, and a cover by Helen Mask. The story is set at a wealthy heiress’s birthday party and follows a private investigator who is supposed to be vetting the heiress’s suitors but finds herself with a lot more on her hands when mangled corpses start showing up. The first issue is slated for release on March 26, 2025.
“Role-playing games? Gothic horror? Rich backgrounds, histories, and stories? Sign me up!” Bunn said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Our Brilliant Ruin is my kind of setting, and I am absolutely honored to introduce consulting detective duo Elizabeth Ranseur and Arielle Wren to readers and players. We’ve got a chilling mystery for them to solve, and it will be a perfect window into the world of Our Brilliant Ruin.”

The Kickstarter for the Our Brilliant Ruin TTRPG raised over $47,000 in pledges from 821 backers, almost doubling its goal of $25,000.
